Cause Description:
Founded in 1970 by Glenn E. Soellner, the Burnt Hills Oratorio Society draws singers from all parts of the Capital District and from all walks of life. BHOS presents two regular concerts each year. Our main purpose has been to present public performances of the masterworks of choral music, and thereby provide a meaningful experience for audiences and performers alike. A consistent aim has been to be faithful to the musical vision of the composers. We also have a "mentor" program, where we invite local youth vocal and orchestral groups to join us in our concert. This fall we have the Saratoga County Youth Orchestra, the Saratoga Childrens Choir, and the Saratoga High School Choraliers. We also sponsor two annual competetive scholarships.
