The Women's Peacepower Foundation,Inc. gives their Amigas awards of $250 to women to encourage their self-less work in the US and around the world The awards are given to women who are risking their lives to create peace in their communities, whether it is in the home or in the community at large. The fund also offers mentoring to help the Amigas winners to learn how to raise money and plan for the future. Currently they are working with women in Ireland to establish the first women's fund for programs benefiting women and their families. Other programs in the US include American Express sponsored financial planning seminars for women, spiritual retreats and auction fundraisers.
