Chasing Horses Wild Horse Advocates

Cause Description:
Established in 2021, Chasing Horses Wild Horse Advocates (CHWHA) is a 501(c)3 organization dedicated to advocating for the humane treatment of the wild horses of Theodore Roosevelt National Park (TRNP) in Medora, ND.  We also educate our followers on all aspects of wild horses and effective advocacy.   CHWHA envisions permanent protection for this herd so that these horses can remain within the boundaries of the park where future generations can experience the beauty and majesty of these historic wild horses, just as Theodore Roosevelt did during his time in the badlands. In April of 2024, TRNP abandoned their current management planning process which caused CHWHA to shift focus to lobbying and securing state and federal legislation that would permanently protect this herd. We plan to have state and federal legislation passed by first quarter 2025.
