Founded in 1964, Chicago Volunteer Legal Serves Foundation strives to make the legal system work for everyone, not simply those with money. Since its inception, CVLS has assisted over 300,000 low-income Chicagoans with everyday legal issues. CVLS’ 18 clinics throughout Chicago serve as sites where clients receive free legal assistance from volunteer attorneys and paralegals. Clinic work is enhanced by CVLS’ Panel Referral Program, which links pro bono attorneys with clients eligible for CVLS services. CVLS is a privately funded organization and does not accept government funding.
