Cause Description:
Cat Assistance Network is a non-profit cat rescue organization located in Monmouth County, New Jersey. We outreach to neighboring communities as well. We rescue injured, sick, abandoned and feral cats and kittens in need of shelter and care. We also accept custody of cats from individuals who can no longer provide a home for them due to eviction, domestic violence, terminal illness or loss of income. All of our rescued cats and kittens receive veterinary care including blood testing for Feline Leukemia (FeLV) and Feline Immunodeficiency Virus (FIV), commonly known as Feline Aids. They are immunized, wormed, treated for fleas and ear mites and are all spayed or neutered. They recouperate in foster homes until we are able to place them as companion animals in loving permanent homes. The cats who have special needs or are not able to be placed as companions live out their lives in private cat sanctuary settings or on private farms where their nutritional and medical needs are met for the rest of their lives.
