Greater Twin Cities Retired and Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP)

Cause Description:
RSVP is a volunteer program which offers meaningful opportunities for people 55 and over to stay active and contribute to their communities. Among other activities, RSVP volunteers tutor and mentor children, assist at health clinics, distribute food, organize neighborhood watch programs, test drinking water for contaminants, teach English to immigrants, and lend their skills to nonprofit community groups that provide critical social services. RSVP provides volunteer placement and followup, supplemental insurance, volunteer recognition, and a quarterly newsletter. Transportation reimbursement is available for volunteers on fixed incomes. The Greater Twin Cities RSVP is sponsored by Volunteers of America of MN, and serves residents of 11 counties around the Twin cities and East Central Minnesota.
