Schola Antiqua of Chicago is an organization dedicated to the study and performance of western liturgical plainchant and early polyphonic music dating from the ninth through sixteenth centuries. Since its inception in 2000, the ensemble has performed its own editions of sacred and secular music of the Middle Ages at numerous venues. Under the guidance of musicologists, the organization promotes an understanding of early liturgical music through its performances, research, and education initiatives concerning this significant body of musical repertory through innovative programming and publications.
