Outreach to Pets in Need (OPIN) supports the Stamford, CT animal shelter. OPIN's mission is to put an end to pet homelessness through medical, training, community education, and placement programs. OPIN 4 primary beliefs: 1) Every homeless pet has a right to preventive and curative medical treatment. 2) Every homeless pet deserves an opportunity to learn how to behave in settings with other animals and people in order to increase their chances for a permanent home. 3)Community outreach and education are critical success factors in increasing understanding of pet behavior and care requirements; and therefore, critical success factors in reducing pet abandonment, neglect and mistreatment. 4) Every homeless pet has a right to a responsible, respectful, loving permanent home.
