Cause Description:
I choose Heritage Adult Day Retreat, it is one of 8 programs operated by Yancey County Committee on Aging, Inc. (Local non-profit Senior Center) to aide/benefit the elderly of mentally disabled in this area. We offer adult day health services to adult 18 yrs of age or older who are physically impaired or mentally confused and may require supervision, need socialization or assistance with personal care and other daily living activities and cannot be left alone while their caregivers work or are trying to carry on their daily living activities during the day. We are open Monday thru Friday 7:30 am-5:30 pm We give 24 hour per day 7 day per week caregivers a break from caregiving and allow the person to remain in their home as long as possible and avoid placement in a 24 hour per day nursing facility.
