Located between El Salvador and Nicaragua, Honduras is generally regarded as the poorest country in Central America with an extraordinary high percentage of its population deep in poverty due to an unequal distribution of income and massive unemployment. The desperate economy relies heavily on foreign aid and a narrow range of exports, notably bananas and coffee, making it vulnerable to natural disasters and shifts in commodity prices. Under these extreme circumstances, are the orphaned children. Given up, abandoned, or the product of a situation that directly caused an early death of their parents the orphaned children number in the tens of thousands. Most attempt to subsist and fight to breath another day doing whatever possible to just live. Most children lose this fight and are unable to rise up and become whatever their innate talent should have allowed them to be. Some children are saved. Some children find hope and The House of Friendship/Copprome provides that hope. The House of Friendship/Copprome provides a loving nurturing environment that allows the children under their loving care to become who they should be.
