Cause Description:
University of Kentucky Health Occupation Professionals for Equality (UK HOPE) was founded in the fall of 2008. Our mission is to promote a more inclusive environment for lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) students, faculty, and staff at the University of Kentucky. Representing the first official LGBT advocacy group on the UK medical campus, we attract a diverse membership of LGBT students, faculty, staff, and their allies. There are no requirements for joining the group; being lesbian, gay, bisexual, or transgender is not requisite, and in fact many of our members are not. The only requirement is a desire to be supportive of and interested in promoting sexual equality.
