Cause Description:
CODAR is an animal rescue organization consisting of volunteers located in the tri-state area and Pennsylvania. We rely on donations from the general public in order to operate. CODAR rescues dogs and puppies from high kill shelters and places them in foster care until permanent loving homes can be found. Our focus on awareness is very important as we realize it is key in preventing millions of pets from being euthanized each year. We educate our adopters as well as the general public on the importance of pet alteration, and work with the adopters and their pets should issues arise. By taking these measures, we hope our adopted animals will have a permanent home. We support volunteerism in our community and allow children ages 10 and over to join our volunteer program to earn community service hours and learn the basics of animal care, education and training. In addition, CODAR also visits local schools to promote pet education. Our goal is to one day build our own shelter or “castle”, where we would treat all animals like kings and queens until they find forever homes. Until then, we are taking smaller steps to save the ones we can, one day at a time.
