Cause Description:
We believe, that in order to move East Lake FORWARD, we must personalize learning through technology. We recognize that today's kids are technology natives and therefore it is our responsibility to prepare the students to compete globally for jobs that require creativity and innovation. Individualized learning through the use of handheld devices, such as the iPad, are essential, because they require students to use the tools currently used in the global workforce across content areas. The iPad Integration Initiative is an aggressive 1-1 iPad student ratio program at East Lake Elementary beginning in the fall of 2012. Entire classes will receive iPads based on Volunteer Classrooms. Corporate, community, and school fundings are working together to make this vision a reality.
