Connections Six Eight is a faith community in Hagerstown, MD that was founded on the belief that the church should be a place of love and acceptance for ALL of God's diverse creations. We believe that Christianity is often both misunderstood and misrepresented. A recent study of young people ages 16-29 showed that they believe Christians are hypocritical, judgmental, too political and homophobic. Is this who Jesus called us to be? If this is what people think of us, then it is our job to change that view! God is a God of love and acceptance. Jesus included people everyone else wanted to shut out. That is the message of the United Church of Christ and the reason Connections 6:8 exists. We are a Church committed to the Truth. What is this truth? That NO ONE is outside of God's love, not even you. God made you, God loves you exactly as you are and has a place at the table for you! Whether you're Male, Female, Male and Female (hermaphrodite), or Transgender; Gay, Bi, Straight or fall anywhere else on the sexual identity spectrum; Black, White, Latino, Asian or any other of God's diversely created ethnicities; Married, Divorced, or Single; Pierced, Inked, or No Accessories; Abled, Disabled, or somewhere in between; Young, Young at Heart, or somewhere in between... -- there IS a place for you at God's table (and at ours)!
