Hairy Haven Rescue & Sanctuary, Inc. in Albany, NY works collaboratively with other animal rescue groups by facilitating the transfer of adoptable dogs and cats out of unsafe situations to safe temporary homes. For those animals that are deemed unadoptable because of advanced age or medical conditions they are offered a permanent residence for the remainder of their lives at Hairy Haven’s no-kill senior sanctuary. Hairy Haven also actively participates in initiatives across New York State and the Northeast to increase awareness and support for animal welfare. Hairy Haven is a program under Hill Hounds, (http://www.hillhounds.org/), a non-profit organization established with an objective to provide safe, temporary or permanent home for cats and dogs when their owners are not able to take care of them and to help animal shelters by taking in the less adoptable animals. Hill Hounds is a 501(c)3, private, non-profit organization and all donations are 100% tax deductible.?
