Cause Description:
Cavalier Rescue of Florida is an all-volunteer, nonprofit organization benefitting Cavalier King Charles Spaniels in need. Cavalier Rescue of Florida will provide love, shelter, food, human companionship, medical care and spay/neuter services for Cavaliers until a permanent placement in a pre-screened, suitable, permanent home is found. Cavalier Rescue of Florida fosters Cavaliers in the homes of individuals who love and understand the breed. Most foster families have Cavaliers. Cavalier Rescue of Florida accepts Cavaliers who are either abandoned in a shelter; or living with an owner who can no longer care for the Cavalier; purchased/rescued by any concerned person; from other rescue groups, pulled from puppy mills; or from any other legitimate source. Cavalier Rescue of Florida supports responsible dog ownership and endeavors to educate the public about all aspects of proper care for Cavaliers. Cavalier Rescue of Florida gladly cooperates with other rescue groups to aid in the rescue and placement of Cavaliers. One of our main goals is to combine efforts with other Cavalier rescue groups so that we have enough volunteers and foster homes in the state that all small towns and shelters will have someone to call when a Cavalier is in need. Cavalier Rescue of Florida believes that educating the public about the commercial dog industry in America is very important and endeavors to inform the public about these matters. Cavalier Rescue of Florida is a breed specific group. However, if it is determined, after a dog has been accepted into rescue, that she is not a purebred Cavalier, CRF will provide for the dog in the same manner as any purebred Cavalier. Cavalier Rescue of Florida wishes to eliminate the euthanasia of any healthy, adoptable Cavalier. We do not accept euthanasia as a means of population control for animals and believe each Cavalier's life is meaningful and each deserves a loving home. We will take responsibility for each Cavalier rescued and placed through Florida Cavalier Rescue for the rest of the dog's natural life.
