Cause Description:
The Oregon Pipers Society was formed in 1987, by a group of pipers and drummers, mostly from the Portland area who were interested in getting together regularly to promote the development and improvement of good pipe music in our community. By way of monthly events held from October through April each year, OPS has hosted programs featuring competitions, workshops, and recitals or performances by local players, pipe bands, as well as top pipers from the region and throughout the world. In addition, OPS has strived to help young local pipers and drummers by providing annual scholarships.
