Journey to Dream (JTD) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit corporation devoted to embracing, equipping and empowering youth so can overcome adversity and pursue their dreams. Since 2004, JTD has impacted tens of thousands of students through prevention assemblies, teen support groups, community outreach, and homeless services. JTD impacts vulnerable populations, including youth in crisis. JTD programs are often deemed a “safe haven” for kids challenged by destructive behaviors or feeling like they don’t fit. In 2005, JTD launched its first pilot program (a student support group serving 25 students) at Hebron High School. By 2009, JTD partnered with Lewisville Independent School District to provide prevention assemblies and student support groups to middle schools and high schools. In 2014, JTD began offering additional support to a growing population of homeless teens including life skills training and access to community resources. The critical need for housing set into motion JTD’s most challenging endeavor, Kyle’s Place. Kyle’s Place is a transitional living program for homeless and foster youth. Aside from giving teens a safe place to sleep and basic necessities, Kyle’s Place offers programs and the support homeless youth need to get back on their feet and succeed.
