Cause Description:
We are an organization run by people with all types of disabilities that serves people with all types of disabilities. We value advocacy, peer counseling and consumer control. One of our program helps people with disabiliites who are financially trapped in nursing homes long after the need to be there move back into the community. Another program is for people who are loosing their sight as they age. We provide many adaptive items for people over 55 to try that will increase their indpendence for instance talking clocks. Still other programs provide personal assistance in the home or advocacy for deaf access. Our mission is the full participation of people with disabilities in the rights and responsibilities of society.
