Cause Description:
We are, first and foremost, a branch of the BC SPCA (British Columbia Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals). We investigate animal cruelty and abuse complaints, and act as representatives for those who cannot speak for themselves. We are also a shelter where neglected, injured, stray and unwanted animals can find solace, safety and a new start in life. After determining the adoptability of each one, these animals are vaccinated and wormed before being placed for adoption. Our staff and volunteers are dedicated to finding homes for these animals- homes that they will be in for the rest of their lives. The North Cariboo Branch serves the following communities: Prince George, Bear Lake, Fort St. James, McBride, Mackenzie, McLeod Lake, Valemont & Vanderhoof.
