Animal Care & Control of New York City (AC&C) is a 501 (c)(3) nonprofit organization promoting the health, safety and welfare of pets in New York City. Everyday, over 120 animals arrive at our Care Centers as a result of homelessness, injury, neglect, abuse, and abandonment. At AC&C, we provide a haven for over 43,000 animals annually. The majority of our animals are vaccinated, medically evaluated, housed, and provided food until they are reunited with their owners or adopted. A few animals arrive at our Care Centers in poor health and are unfortunately euthanized. Our focus is to place as many healthy animals that enter our Care Centers into loving and supportive homes. Mission: To promote and protect the health, safety and welfar of pets and people in NYC.
