The YWCA Evanston/North Shore The YWCA Evanston/North Shore is a multi-service agency committed to empowering women and girls and eliminating racism. We operate one of the few shelters for battered women and their children and provide a full range of much-needed services on domestic violence--legal advocacy, support groups for women and children, community education, transitional housing. This YW also offers one of the best swim programs in the community, conducts violence prevention programs in local schools, has launched a much-needed after school program for girls and much more.
